Job Description: JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience: 2 years ambulatory oncology RN experience. Chemo knowledge required. CA RN License. Certs: BLS required. Chemo cert preferred. First time travelers accepted: Yes, with 3 years of ONC exp. Special Requirements: Oncology and chemo experience required. Hepatobiliary and surgical experience needed since RN will be triaging and calling post-op patients.

Job Details: Shift: 5x8's, M-F (shifts may vary in start/end times due to dept needs). Weekend REQ: No. Floating REQ: No. On-Call REQ: No. Pending license: NO, must be active at time of submission. NO SCHEDULING REQUESTS CAN BE ACCOMODATED.

Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics. Daily Census: 260. Number of Rooms: 41. Patient Diagnoses: Oncology Patients with age range: pediatric to geriatric. Clinics: Hematology Oncology (CARt/BMT/Stem Cell Transplant), Solid Tumors (GYN, GI, GU, Breast and Thoracic Oncology).

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Ambulatory practice management including efficient clinic flow and ensure continuity of patient care. Completion of pertinent nursing assessment and interventions. Ensure new patient records received and abstracted for physician review. Telephone triage of clinic patients. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, chemo/surgery/BMT/CARt teaching, treatment side effects. Administer intermuscular and subcutaneous chemotherapy injections, work with CADD pumps for continuous infusions, access/de-access and trouble shoot PAS-ports and chest ports. For Surgical Clinics: Assist physician with in-office minor surgical procedures such as excisional biopsy/wide excision/JP drain/wound vacuum care, wound drainage, minor surgical procedures.

Special Equipment: PAS-ports, CADD pumps.

Compliance Submission Rules: Licensure: Temp/Pending licenses not accepted. Valid perm California license must be in hand at time of submission. Locals accepted at same rate. No radius rule. References: 2 references from within the past 1 year of employment are required at the time of submission. Must be supervisor or higher - No Charge RN. Hard Stop. Return Staff Policy: Previous perm employees must be separated for 24 months before they are eligible for travel positions at all Cedars-Sinai facilities (including Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Cedars Marina Del Rey), with the exception of CSMN, which requires a 12 month separation. All past Cedars employment (travel, staff, etc.) MUST be included on profile. This includes Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cedars Marina Del Rey, Torrance Memorial, Cedars-Sinai Medical Network (CSMN), Huntington Health Physicians (HHP) and Huntington Hospital. Scheduling Requests: None allowed. Traveler should be flexible. Background Policy: Any license or background hit requires a detailed written statement from the traveler. License/background hits will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Any license or background hits that are open and/or pending are an automatic redirect. All hits must be completely closed. RTO Rules: Max RTO: 2 weeks total. No RTO within the first 2 weeks of the assignment. Compliance: Modules: Modules are billable and non-billable, 10-40 hours. Billable: the first 17 hours or HealthStream Modules are billable. Non-billable: any time spent on modules after first 17 hours in non-billable. Modules are completed pre-start and during orientation if not completed pre-start, and vary by specialty. Modules are self-reported on module timecard.
