Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the City of Norwalk.
Positions are Intermittent, NOT Full-time. Intermittent positions are hourly part-time positions and working hours may not exceed 1500 hours per calendar year. Permanent/Intermittent employees can still receive State health and retirement benefits. Interviews will NOT be conducted for this recruitment. Conditional Job Offers will be made to candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and have eligibility and satisfactory references. Candidates must have a current and active LVN License with no Disciplinary Actions. Under general supervision, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (Safety) (LVN) provides general and psychiatric nursing care to mentally disabled individuals utilizing nursing and mental health principles.
Candidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any Shift to meet the needs of the facility. TRAINING EXPECTATIONS: If selected, it is mandatory that you attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) in its entirety. NEO can be scheduled Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for up to 30 days for level of care staff (clinical).
