SUMMARY:

The Regular Education Instructional Assistant (IA) position works at the direction of building Principals and teachers to perform a variety of tasks supporting students through the school day. Responsibilities may include: monitoring activities with students, assisting teachers with classroom management, lunchroom & recess duties, assisting students individually or in small groups with organization skills, staying on task, academic support as well as providing social/emotional guidance when needed - performing all related work deemed necessary to support students as assigned by teachers and/or supervising school staff. Position functions as part of a team, working directly with students, teachers and school staff to perform all duties with accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism. The hourly Regular Education Instructional Assistant (IA) pay rate is $18 per hour 21 hours of paid time off (PTO) - prorated based on start date

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required. For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB. Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred Must have the ability to relate effectively with students, staff and public in a professional manner.
