ABOUT THE ROLE

Motorhomes of Texas (MOT) sells and services pre-owned luxury Class A diesel motorhomes, mostly on consignment, from Nacogdoches since 2003.

We are hiring a General Manager to run the business day to day and own execution of the owner's vision. You will lead the leadership team and own the P&L.

You will turn the owner's direction into systems, structure, and results, and hold the leadership team accountable for them. You are also the check on new ventures, so growth is added only when the core business can carry it.

REPORTING AND AUTHORITY

• Reports to: The owner. Monthly review of hires and exits, spending, goodwill and comeback costs, marketing return, and the story behind the P&L.
• Direct reports: Unit Sales (with F&I, consignment, acquisition, reconditioning, and delivery); Fixed Operations (Service & Parts); Marketing; Shared Services (Finance, Accounting, HR, IT, Facilities).
• Scope: All MOT locations and departments (60+ employees), plus new locations as we open them, including a possible Florida location.
• Authority: Hire and fire your direct reports. Final say on operating decisions inside the approved budget.
• Measured by: Net profit vs. budget, department gross, coaches on the lot and ready to sell, inventory aging, goodwill and comebacks, marketing return, turnover, quarterly goals, and Google reviews.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead the Leadership Team. Hold department heads to their numbers and goals, and make the hard staffing calls. With HR, build a plan to attract, hire, and keep a full team: 21 technicians and 6 sales associates.
2. Inventory: Full, Ready, and Fresh. Own inventory volume and rotation: 100 coaches on the lot, 75 ready to sell, and no consignment past two contract terms. Keep acquisition, reconditioning, and sales moving as one flow.
3. Own the P&L and Run the Plan. Own results against the budget. Explain the story behind the P&L each month and act on it. Run the management rhythm: weekly leadership meeting, weekly KPIs, quarterly goals, and annual planning.
4. Build Systems and Teamwork. Own org design and core processes, and make changes stick. Put every department, including Marketing, on a written plan and budget. Solve cross-department issues before they stall. Make the call when leaders disagree.
5. New Ventures: Readiness and Launch. Before any new location, venture, or major capital commitment, lead a readiness review: leadership, cash and debt capacity, systems, and who runs it. A venture moves only when you and the owner both say go. Once approved, own staffing, systems, and launch.

MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years as a GM or senior leader with full P&L over both sales and service/parts.
• Dealership experience: auto, truck, equipment, marine, powersports, or RV. RV or luxury strongly preferred.
• Has run used inventory: acquisition, reconditioning, pricing, and aging.
• Reads a dealership financial statement and knows which lever to pull (department gross, floor plan, inventory aging, expenses, fixed ops absorption).
• Hands-on use of a dealership DMS (IDS, Motility, CDK, or Reynolds & Reynolds) and CRM. IDS G2 and VinSolutions preferred.
• Preferred: consignment sales, new-store openings, and EOS or a similar system.

• Knows the business: Sees how sales, service, and parts connect. An operator who builds structure.
• Wants the job: Wants to own results, run the meetings, and make the tough calls.
• Has the capacity: Full-time, on-site, and able to run several departments and locations.

• Not a department manager. You lead the department heads, not their departments.
• Not the accountant. The Controller runs the budget, cash, and books. You own the results.
• Not an office job. Manage by walking around, in every department and location.

COMPENSATION AND LOCATION

• Pay: Base plus profit sharing
• Benefits: Health insurance (company pays most of employee-only cost), company-paid life/AD&D, 401(k), PTO, and optional dental and vision.
• Location and terms: On-site in Nacogdoches, Texas. Relocation assistance and personal use of a company-owned coach. Non-solicitation agreement required.
