Mental Health Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and committed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic and innovative organization. This position will work with the Director of Mental Health and the Clinical Program Manager. The Mental Health Therapists will provide clinical treatment for a variety of ages to include young children, teens, adults, and/or families. Special clinical focus may include working with high‑risk youth who are at high risk of missing from home, sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking. These positions may perform some crisis intervention services with children and families to include meeting them within their community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide counseling to youth and families needing short‑ or intermediate‑term mental health interventions with an emphasis on caregivers and teens Provide group therapy to youth or caregivers referred through Children’s Service’s Programs Provide school‑based mental health services as needed Complete clinical records including progress notes, reports, assessments, service plans and discharge summaries on a timely basis according to agency requirements, state regulations, and licensing standards Provide comprehensive clinical assessments Effectively utilize evidenced‑based therapeutic interventions Manage caseloads and meet program established direct service expectations Collaborate with other agencies and service providers, including case managers, to advocate on behalf of clients Participate in consultation and supervision sessions as required Collect statistics and implement Continuous Quality Improvement procedures Meet clinical requirements of third‑party payers and provide information necessary for prompt and accurate billing Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families we serve without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation Perform other program related duties as assigned Professional Development Clinical supervision of hours (can be obtained on‑site at Project Harmony) Provisional License and Licensure application fees (applies to all licensure levels) Licensure exam fee (first attempt – employee agrees to pay costs for additional attempts to pass exam) Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) required for licensure renewal Licensure renewal fees Other Benefits Insurance credentialing – HIPAA compliant database – Liability insurance – Clinical advancement – Evidence‑based practice certifications – National Network Affiliation (NCTSN) Training/Conference opportunities Tuition Assistance and Scholarship opportunities Access to clinical assessments and tools Extra Perks Fully outfitted Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) space – On‑site Facility Dogs Therapy garden – Fully outfitted play therapy space – No Weekend Clinic hours required Expressive Arts studios and supplies – Sand tray therapeutic tools Wellness and Lactation spaces – Lunch and Learn events – Campus Food Trucks Reward & Recognition Award Program Who We Are Project Harmony exists to provide effective, immediate and sensitive support to child abuse victims and their non‑offending family members. Provisional licensure as a mental health practitioner may be considered Must be eligible for and maintain credentials to participate in Nebraska Medicaid and private insurance panels Experience and Training 2+ years of experience working with children and families impacted by child abuse/neglect preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Crisis intervention and family engagement skills Excellent written, verbal and listening communications skills Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds Excellent organization, time management and decision‑making skills Good problem‑solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts Ability to analyze and make clinical recommendations regarding individual cases with consideration of larger systemic issues. Understanding and maintenance of clear professional boundaries Strong commitment to follow code of ethics and comply with all laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures that govern the practice of mental health Knowledge of therapeutic evidenced‑based practices and understanding of trauma informed care Knowledge of the dynamics of sexual abuse, physical abuse and domestic violence Understanding of family systems theory and attachment theory Training in evidenced based practices for treatment of trauma in adults and teens High level of initiative and energy Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Access Must respect and maintain confidentiality Other Requirements Must be willing to work flexible hours Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
