Sr. Payroll Specialist

Job Description:Summary: Process payroll transactions. Perform data entry and accounting services. 5-7 years payroll processing experience required for the senior level. Payroll experience in a fast-paced, multi-state, demanding environment is needed. Comprehensive knowledge of wage and hour laws, garnishment laws, and taxability of wages. CPP or FPC preferred but not required.*Candidates must be located near our Minnetonka, MN office as the role is hybrid with 2 days a week in office.Responsibilities may include: Lead daily, biweekly, and special payroll processes for multi-state payroll for Us non-exempt and exempt employees.Process payroll for up to 500* employeesReconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.Maintain payroll control recordsProvide guidance to the team on payroll processing, tax laws, garnishments, system issues and general troubleshooting in payroll.Assist with mentoring of payroll specialists and as a backup for their duties.Work with the team to research and respond to escalated employee inquiries.Authorizes, reviews, and prepare complex payroll transactions.Assist with final payroll check calculation reviewPerform adhoc projects as neededAssist in month/quarter/year-end closeCompletes verification of employment verifications, garnishments, and EDD notices as needed.Provide support to managers and employees with Workday’s time tracking and absence modulesBack up for payroll transmit.Exemplifies professionalismExcellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detailKnowledge and Skills to be successful:UKG- preferredOther large payroll processing platforms helpfulWorkday- preferred, not requiredHigh proficient in excel (vlooks, pivot tables, and formulas)Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment.Associate degree- preferred#LI-MB1 #Minnetonka #PayrollThe estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work.
