Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst-Decision Support. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Decision Support, Strategy & Value Improvement, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for producing financial analyses that assist in monitoring the hospital\'s financial performance. This role provides analytical support for the system-wide Value Based Management (VBM) initiative, including identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to drive value across all sites of the health system. The analyst will enhance existing system-wide financial dashboards and develop new dashboards to support strategic initiatives. Experience with a decision support system or healthcare-related reporting is preferred, with emphasis on cost accounting, data reconciliation, data analysis, and visualization. The candidate should be comfortable handling large data sets, have strong communication skills, and be team-oriented. Responsibilities also include cost saving opportunities, physician resource utilization analysis, quality/cost analysis, and dashboard creation. The Senior Financial Analyst will engage in benchmarking activities and other projects as needed. The Decision Support, Strategy & Value Improvement team drives value across the organization by providing cost accounting, benchmarking, and analytical services to inform sound business decisions. The team collaborates with clinical, operational, and cross-functional stakeholders and includes 28+ team members, 5 clinical leads, and a dedicated IT group. Job Responsibilities Perform a wide portfolio of complex analyses including financial, operational, clinical, policy, and benchmark reporting Develop an in-depth understanding of the internal costing system (EPSi) and run EPSi reports; understand the relationship between EPSi fields and the impact on business decisions Conduct financial analyses to identify cost, revenue, and quality improvement opportunities and provide decision support for key strategic initiatives Develop and maintain system-wide Tableau dashboards that span financial reporting, value opportunities, and department performance for annual financial goals Package and summarize analytical findings for senior leadership with clear results and recommendations Independently develop analytical frameworks for large, complex data sets and apply judgement in analysis Create and maintain Alteryx workflows or Tableau Prep flows to automate processes and reduce redundancies Proactively communicate any issues or barriers to meet timelines and deliverables Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of data integrity and process flow Utilize Alteryx, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau for data analysis, validation, and visualization Demonstrate initiative and suggest innovative solutions to problems Minimum Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree with a major in a business subject (e.g., accounting, finance, economics) and 3–5 years of related experience. A graduate degree in business or public administration is preferred. Other minimum qualifications include: excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel. Proficiency with vlookups, pivot tables, subtotals, and other Excel functions is expected. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Three to five years of experience in not-for-profit, healthcare, or accounting. Action-oriented with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines and a broad range of technical skills. Strong foundation in financial analysis and a general understanding of the healthcare industry. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and/or Access. Extensive experience in data transformation/manipulation. Basic understanding of database relationships and structures. Experience in Business Intelligence/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI). Experience working with a decision support/cost accounting system. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
