US Head of Tax - Insurance Firm (New York)

Vested Search are excited to partner with a globally established insurance firm who are looking to hire a US Head of Tax
This role will report to the Global Head of Tax overseas and run US tax compliance and advisory projects alongside the team in the US and internationally
Responsibilities include:
- Own and run global tax reporting and provision requirements , owning tax disclosures for ASC740, US GAAP, SSAP 101 and statutory reporting, in addition to federal, state and local tax return management (alongside help from external advisors)
- US partnership tax compliance management, including K-1 and 1065 reporting
- Technical guidance on tax accounting , including transactions - notably PGAAP and investment tax accounting support
- US tax support on acquisitions and investments, aligning with tax strategy team to support on integrations and related tax compliance and legal obligations
- Support on tax strategic initiatives around M&A activity, notably acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings and due diligence and transaction structuring support where required
- Management of US tax team, to include 8-10 individuals
Individuals should have a strong background in US tax within the insurance and/or investment industry. Familiarity with insurance products is essential
This role can be based in New York with 1 day a week in the office or remotely if applicants are based in other areas in the US
