Ignite Communication and Connection in the Land of 10,000 Lakes - Become a Speech Language Pathologist Overview What if your next career step allowed you to truly make a difference in lives through the power of speech? As a Speech Language Pathologistin one of Minnesota's most dynamic urban centers, your role will extend far beyond mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You will help illuminate potential, instill confidence, and strengthen bonds within families - guiding children as they articulate their first words and assisting seniors in reclaiming their voice and independence. This position offers the unique joy of working with a diverse clientele across all ages in a setting that perfectly merges outpatient therapy with infrequent inpatient engagement. Whether your passions lie in pediatric language acquisition, adult neurogenic disorders, or geriatric speech rehabilitation, you'll discover purpose and adaptability in your practice. Description Assess patients of varying age brackets, utilizing a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods. Craft tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver individualized speech therapy focusing on communication, language enhancement, fluency regulation, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques. Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team consisting of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, caregivers, and families to devise comprehensive care strategies. Provide educational guidance to patients and families to promote ongoing progress outside the clinical environment. Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations, ensuring a continuum of care throughout the therapeutic journey. Maintain precise and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Keep pace with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and professional peer interactions. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if you are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist . Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days from the start date. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies across all age groups, with a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to modify therapy methods to cater to the diverse cultural and linguistic profiles of patients. Strong clinical assessment, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards. Benefits Competitive salary competitive to experience level. Flexible scheduling for enhanced work-life balance and varied caseloads. Options for specialization within pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance selections. Funding for continuing education and opportunities for professional development. A collaborative environment that champions quality care and lifelong learning. A Journey That Inspires Growth and Change In this role, you'll not just provide therapy - you'll participate in a mission rooted in community engagement, restoring the ability to communicate, and creating joyous moments through the simple yet profound actions of understanding and connection. You'll collaborate with colleagues who treat one another as family, within a culture that values team success over individual competition. Every patient presents a narrative; we trust you with the opportunity to redefine those stories. If your heart is set on serving others with intention and skill, we'd be thrilled to welcome you to our team. Let's Speak the Same Language - Together If you understand that speech therapy is more than tasks and sound, if you believe in fostering trust as the foundation for reaching goals, and if you regard laughter as essential to language - then your next chapter may very well begin here.
