If you value inclusivity, balance, and cultural centeredness and have a true passion for serving others, you may be a great fit for our team!Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial RollsReviews, balances, and classifies all revenue and expenditures to proper accounts in accordance with federal regulations and WPHW policies.Audits entries and documents to ensure accuracy, propriety, proper account coding, adequate explanations, and other applicable information in accordance with federal and state regulations.Reviews the various accounts, financial summaries, and statements for accuracy and compliance.Assist with month-end closingInternal control review, support accounting policies, monitoring and preventing fraud.Assist with external auditsAssist and review grant reportingAssist with payroll processing reviewTrain and support accounting staff as applicableAccounting Systems SupportEnsure practices are GAAP and MAAP compliant and comply with federal, state, and local regulationsAssists with the development of and maintenance of financial and business policies, controls, and reporting proceduresAssists with the development of documentation of systematic procedures for payroll related tasksMaintain vendor online bill pay accountsPerform other related duties as assigned.Education, Qualifications/SkillsUniversity degree in accounting, business administration, economics, commerce, or a related field OREight (8) years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activitiesStrong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Understanding of non-profit/governmental/fund accounting.Ability to maintain process according to federal and state regulations.Experience with QuickBooks.Experience reconciling accounts and maintaining general ledgers.Capable of producing various financial reports from interpreting and analyzing data.Proven experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.Attention to detail and accuracy.Proven organizational and multitasking skillsAbility to solve problems and analyze informationExcellent customer service skillsAble to maintain high levels of confidentialityGood verbal and written communication skills.Professional, courteous, and positive mannerAble to set priorities and manage multiple task functions simultaneouslyAble to work in a fast-paced environmentMust pass all background checks required by program guidelines.Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness is an equal opportunity employer.
