If you’re coming out of 10/15 thinking “there has to be a better version of Public Accounting than this”, this firm is probably worth a look.

I helped a Tax Director join this firm 6 months ago after they’d spent years at a similar sized firm working 60+ hour weeks with very little flexibility. I called them a few weeks ago to see how things were going and they couldn’t thank me enough. The culture was exactly what they’d hoped for, the hours were much better, and they finally had more time to spend with their family.

They’re a privately owned mid-sized CPA firm, with no Private Equity involvement, a hybrid setup, busy season hours that typically sit between 45 and 50, and a culture that gives people room to have a life outside of work.

\n

You’ll work 2 to 3 days in the office, with flexibility around school runs and personal commitments. The firm also closes between Christmas and New Year, with extra time off around April 15, July 4 and Thanksgiving.

\n

\n

There’s a fully paid annual firm trip for you and a plus one too. Last year, the whole firm went on a cruise. I could think of worse work trips...

The package also includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401k match, life insurance, long term disability cover, twice yearly bonuses, generous PTO, new business commissions and referral bonuses.

\n

As Tax Manager, you’ll work across a broad generalist client base, including some International clients, review returns, manage engagements, lead a team, and build direct relationships with clients. You won’t be boxed into one narrow area of Tax, and there’s plenty of room to keep progressing.

They’re looking for someone with Public Accounting experience who enjoys the client side of the role and wants to join a firm they can actually see themselves staying with long-term.

\n

\n

CPA or EA is preferred, but not required.

\n

\n
