Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night shift position on a 21-bed Renal Med-Surg unit requiring a minimum of 3 years of Med-Surg and telemetry experience and mandatory Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• 21-bed Renal/Medical-Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults with acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions
• High-acuity unit with high patient turnover requiring continuous monitoring and frequent assessments
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring is a core component of patient care
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders
• Epic EMR used; proficiency is mandatory and no training will be provided
• No on-call requirement
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OH RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and telemetry experience required; renal experience strongly preferred
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips required
• Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory — lack of proficiency results in immediate contract termination
• Epic proficiency must be clearly documented in candidate profile

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients, managing renal-related complications in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• A competency test is required on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission to be honored — RTO added after confirmation will not be accommodated
• Returning Genesis travelers within 9 months may be eligible for an alternate start date
