The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.We are seeking a skilled Technician with experience working in M&P labs who will leverage their technical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and efficient laboratory operations. This role involves performing material testing as part of a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As part of a small, hardworking, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for material testing in the M&P Labs. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform laboratory analysis per industry standard test methods.Summarize, document, and communicate results to stakeholdersDevelop standard methods, training material, and related documentation for laboratory processesDemonstrate strict attention to detail in executing laboratory analysesMaintain laboratory equipment and facilitiesIdentify new equipment to expand laboratory capability and improve responsivenessSafely work with hazardous systems containing chemicals, elevated and cryogenic temperatures, and/or high pressureMinimum QualificationsAt least 5 years experience working in material test laboratories, or comparable environment.Experience using mechanical testing load frames (tension, compression, flexure, etc.)Experience with basic hand tools and precision measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)Experience with engineering laboratory skills: weights and measures, chemical hygiene, materials safety planning, personal protective equipment, contamination control, workload organization and planningDemonstrated ability to drive project and task execution to meet or beat scheduled need datesExtremely customer focused, critical thinker with strong verbal and written communication skillsA continuous improvement mindset.
