Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) SpecialistSaronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our fast-growing operations across Mission Services covering Vessel Testing, Depot Repairs, Field Services, Fulfilment, and Distribution. This role will primarily support operations on the U.S. East Coast (Virginia) and the Europe, Middle East, Asia (EMEA) region, with a focus on the United Kingdom (UK).This position provides a unique opportunity to partner with multiple operational teams responsible for testing and servicing autonomous surface vessels across geographically diverse and highly regulated environments. The EHS Specialist will support the development, implementation, and management of critical EHS programs and training to ensure compliance with U.S. and U.K. regulatory frameworks, while promoting a culture of learning and operational excellence.Responsibilities:Support environmental compliance programs, including but limited to:Air permits and emissions complianceHazardous and industrial waste managementStormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and equivalent Australian stormwater requirementsSpill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans and inspectionsHazardous materials / Dangerous Goods managementCoordinate with local site teams and external consultants to ensure compliance with relevant environmental authoritiesAssist with environmental reporting, inspections, and recordkeeping across regionsHealth and Safety:Support development and management of EHS programs including, but not limited to:Maritime Safety (including maritime operations in U.S. and U.K. waters)Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, ErgonomicsPowered Industrial Trucks, Hazard CommunicationCranes and Rigging, Electrical and Battery SafetyLockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energy isolationEmergency Action Plans aligned with local regulatory requirementsConduct safety meetings, presentations, trainings, committees, shift stand-ups, and GEMBA walk-throughs across multiple time zones and locationsSupport the creation and standardization of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) across global operationsLead hazard control implementation, including coordination with vendors and cross-regional project teamsLead EHS event investigations and learning analyses; track and drive corrective actions globallyRespond to employee health or safety emergencies and support activation of site-specific emergency proceduresEvaluate work practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulationsSubmit, track, and manage EHS continuous improvement initiatives across regionsAddress and document safety concerns both in the field and through formal reporting systemsDeliver EHS training to employees at all levels, including region-specific regulatory training requirementsSupport EHS team initiatives such as regulatory reporting, inspections, audits, emergency drills, and management system improvementsMonitor and communicate updates on EHS regulations, standards, and industry best practices.Develop and track individual and team objectives and key results (OKRs) aligned with global EHS goals.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, public health, or a related field;
