We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to support hiring and onboarding activities. This role focuses on reviewing candidate information, guiding applicants through each stage of the hiring process, and maintaining accurate recruitment records. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative judgment, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with care.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate submitted applications and resumes to verify completeness and alignment with position criteria.

• Conduct initial candidate screening to confirm required qualifications, certifications, and eligibility standards are met.

• Monitor applicant movement through the hiring process and keep recruitment activities on schedule.

• Respond to candidates with timely updates regarding status, documentation needs, and upcoming steps.

• Maintain well-organized records within HR systems and applicant tracking tools to ensure data accuracy.

• Assist with job posting distribution and observe applicant flow to support recruitment effectiveness.

• Provide recruiting support for public safety openings, including fire and police roles, when needed.

• Help uphold compliance with hiring policies, established procedures, screening requirements for all candidates, and employment regulations.

• Prepare routine hiring summaries and recruitment status reports for stakeholder review.

• Prior experience in human resources, recruiting, talent acquisition, or candidate screening.
• Demonstrated ability to assess applications against defined hiring standards and identify applicants with relevant experience.
• Familiarity with onboarding coordination, background checks, and HR administrative processes.
• Experience using applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, or other HR databases.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
• Ability to balance multiple openings, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to public sector, civil service, or public safety recruiting practices is preferred.
