Plant Fleet & Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Picture this: Production is ramping up when a loader’s hydraulics get spongy, a Travelift needs attention, and a building motor trips a breaker. You prioritize, diagnose, and act—ordering the right parts, replacing a worn component, re‑torquing fasteners, and verifying performance. By shift’s end, equipment is back online and the facility is shipshape.

Keep every machine and system in our plant operating safely and at peak performance—from heavy equipment and vehicles to the building’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and sanitary systems.

• Maintain and repair automobiles, tractors, cranes, trailers, production machinery, Travelift, loaders, pickup trucks, and lift trucks.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues; dismantle assemblies; replace damaged or worn parts; reassemble and adjust to spec.
• Order required replacement parts and manage timely installations.
• Perform internal combustion engine work: piston ring and bearing replacement; valve grinding/adjustment ; carburetor rebuilds.
• Overhaul transmissions; repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Execute PM programs, including inspections and oil changes, to minimize downtime.
• Preserve facility integrity: repair electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; fix plumbing fixtures; assist with heating, air conditioning, and sanitary systems; complete occasional painting/touch‑ups.
• Uphold all Safety and Quality rules and processes to protect people and product quality.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strength in Diesel Engine Systems; Diesel & Heavy Equipment Systems; Hydraulic Systems & Components.
• Proven ability with Preventive Maintenance & Inspection; Engine Repair; Lift Truck Repair & Maintenance; Oil Changes.
