This role involves supervising staff, managing budgets, developing maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. They are responsible for both preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and functionality of electrical system at facilities.Essential Functions• Manage and direct Maintenance Supervisors and Area Electricians as assigned.• Coordinate with Engineering and Operations groups on new electrical projects and modifications. Work with high and low tension, single, and multiple phase power lines and panels.• Assign duties for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, such as motors, generators, switches, control panels, circuit breakers, electric safety devices, resistors, electro-magnets, motor drives, transformers, magnetic breaks, starters, etc. in shop facilities and at plant sites.• Prepare diagrams or sketches, often of a complicated nature, for work to be performed. Recommend design changes as needed.• Troubleshoot electrical power issues and prepare and coordinate plans, supplies, and crews to resolve issues. Maintain power supply lines as required.• Manage the electrical maintenance budget, forecasting requirements, controlling expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, generate reports, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. • Devise electrical circuits involving solenoids, switches, resistors, relays, and other "state of the art" equipment.Critical Competencies• Strategic Planning - Ability to set a clear vision, establish long-term goals, and develop actionable plans to achieve organizational success by analyzing internal and external factors, anticipating future challenges, allocating resources effectively, and aligning team efforts with business objectives. • Attention to Detail - Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks; meticulous and precise when handling information, and is critical in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the results. • Analytical Thinking - Ability to break down complex problems, situations, in order to understand underlying patterns, identify key issues; examine information logically, question assumptions, and draw conclusions based on evidence. • Customer Service - Understands, anticipates, and meets customer needs while ensuring a positive experience and building long-term relationships.• Critical Thinking - Ability to analyze information objectively, evaluate different perspectives, and make well-informed decisions. • Processing Knowledge - Understands the material flow, crushing, screening and stockpiling process of an aggregate operation. Understands how to adjust plant settings for optimal production efficiency and troubleshoot inefficiencies.Education• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.Experience• Must have at least 10 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• A good working knowledge of PLC systems and programming is preferred. • Must have a thorough knowledge of electrical codes, plant and electrical equipment, low and medium voltage power distribution, and electrical equipment used in the plant and on locomotives, power shovels, and other operating equipment. • Must be proficient in the use of equipment such as voltmeters, amp meters, indicators, and test equipment and instruments.• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and maintenance practices. • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues. • Ability to manage and control financial resources. • Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and best practices. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. Other Requirements• This position requires frequent travel to facilities for repair or emergency services.• The work schedule will include evenings and weekends to minimize downtime of operating hours.• Ability to wear PPE and perform safety guidelines during work.• Ability to work in all types of weather.• Collaborate with Electrical Managers across the country as well as engineering, operations and process optimization teams on various projects.• Receive training on high-voltage equipment.• This role requires the ability to travel in a company designated vehicle and meet DOT guidelines.JD DisclaimerVulcan Materials Company is an equal opportunity employer.
