The Fire Alarm Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Fire Alarm Department, including installation, service, inspections, project execution, and team performance. The Fire Alarm Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Fire Alarm Department, including installation, service, inspections, project execution, and team performance. The Fire Alarm Manager serves as the primary leader for the department, driving operational excellence, employee development, and business growth. Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Fire Alarm Department.
- Oversee installation, service, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to contract requirements.
- Monitor departmental workload and allocate resources effectively.
- Develop and improve department processes to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform their work.
- Supervise Service Technicians, Inspectors, and Installers.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, OSHA regulations, local fire codes, and company policies
- Promote employee engagement and maintain a positive team culture.
- Address performance concerns through coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Participate in customer meetings and project reviews.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout all phases of service and project execution.
- Review job costing, labor utilization, and project profitability.
- Monitor department revenue, margins, and key performance indicators
- Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Operations to prioritize work.
- Support a culture of safety by promoting safe work practices and addressing safety concerns professionally.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Electrical Technology, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of fire alarm industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Certification (Level II, III, or IV)
- Hold the appropriate local/state license by jurisdiction.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Valid driver's license
- Combination of office, warehouse, and field environments.
- Regular travel to customer locations and job sites.
- Outdoor and indoor construction environments
- Exposure to heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
- Frequent lifting, bending, and standing
- Travel to job sites as required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support emergency service or project deadlines.
