SUMMARY:

Provides administrative and clerical support for all aspects of calibration inventory control and the coordination of calibration services in accordance with company established procedures and standards while performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process new devices into the calibration system, maintains an accurate record of all calibration requirements, calibrations, certifications, and the location of equipment at all times.  Coordinates the calibration services with internal, and external sources

Check-in measurement test equipment when manufacturing and or QA drops off gages. Gages should be checked-in to the calibration system on arrival, then place on proper shelf.

Records and tracks the location of all equipment in calibration.  Controls the physical movement of equipment within and out of the Calibration Lab and makes location changes as necessary when transferred to a new location.

Recalls equipment as necessary for Calibration and coordinates internal calibration of equipment with the Quality department. 

Performs calibration, testing, troubleshooting and repairs as necessary, data collection and report completion on a wide range of mechanical and test equipment.

Use established internal procedures as well as industry standards, manufacturer procedures for the proper calibration and troubleshooting of mechanical measuring and test equipment.

Completes required documentation to certify the verification and calibration of mechanical measuring and test equipment.

Provides recommendations for improving calibration procedures. 

Self-manage time to obtain maximum efficiency.

Follows company policies and standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have knowledge and a clear understanding of VACCO’s internal Gage instructions and standards below:

ISO/IEC 17025

VI-CAL

Basic knowledge of manufacturing procedures, including work order processing.  Familiar with MS software such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (3) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.
