Job Description Reviewapprovedconstructiondrawings,weldingprocedures,shopdrawings,andprojectspecifications Communicatewithwelders,foremen,superintendents,projectmanagers,engineers,andbuildinginspectorsregardinginspectionfindingsandcomplianceissues Preparedetailedinspectionreportsdocumentingcompliancewithcontractdocuments,approveddrawings,AWScodes,andapplicablestandards Mentorandtrainjuniorinspectorsonweldinginspectionprocedures,coderequirements,anddocumentationstandards Inspectandverifyweldingactivitiesforcompliancewithapprovedplans,specifications,andapplicableweldingcodes Ensureweldingworkisperformedinaccordancewithcontractdocuments,specifications,RFCplans,andapprovedweldingprocedures Ensurecontractorscomplywithprojectspecifications,approvedweldingprocedures,andapplicableAWS/IBCrequirements Verifywelderqualificationsandweldingprocedurespecifications(WPS/PQR) PerformvisualweldinspectionsinaccordancewithAWSD1.1andotherapplicablecodes Documentwelddiscontinuities,deficiencies,andcorrectiveactions MaintaincurrentAWSCWIcertificationandotherrequiredcredentials Qualifications Bachelor’sdegreeinatechnicalfield,Associate’sdegreewithrelevanttechnicalexperience,orequivalentcombinationofeducationandweldinginspectionexperiencepreferred CurrentAWSCertifiedWeldingInspector(CWI)certificationrequired AdditionalcertificationssuchasICCStructuralSteelandBolting,ICCStructuralWelding,NDTcertifications,orotherapplicableinspectioncertificationspreferred WorkingknowledgeofAWSD1.1,applicablebuildingcodes,andindustrystandardsrelatedtostructuralsteelweldingandinspection Abilitytoreadandinterpretconstructiondrawings,weldingsymbols,shopdrawings,specifications,andweldingprocedurespecifications(WPS/PQR) ProficiencyinMicrosoftOfficeapplicationsincludingWord,Excel,andOutlook Validdriver’slicensewithacceptabledrivingrecord Strongattentiontodetailwiththeabilitytoprioritizeandmanagemultipleprojectsandinspectionassignments Abilitytoworkindependentlyinthefieldandcommunicateeffectivelywithcontractors,engineers,projectmanagers,andclients Job duties subject to change; other duties as assigned by the manager Additional Information Salary Range: $40-60/hour, depending on qualifications Free Medical, Dental, and Vision for employees.
