If you're looking for a dynamic and purpose-driven environment, we invite you to explore the opportunity to contribute to our mission.Job SummaryThe Dentist diagnoses and treats dental conditions, injuries, and irregularities of the oral cavity and related tissues and provides education regarding prevention and oral hygiene.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneEssential Duties/ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Functions:Coordinate the preparation of reports and written documentation as required by the department, company, and State and Federal agenciesMaintain proper, detailed, and accurate dental recordsTravel between clinics to work, as neededBe on-call, as scheduled, by the Director of Dental ServicesAssist Clinic Manager/Director of Dental Services in supervising the dental staff and assuring that clinic is compliant with State and Federal guidelinesMeet productivity goals, as set by DAP Health, assist the Clinic Manager, and work with dental staff to accomplish those goalsMaintain a professional demeanor with patients, staff, and administrationSupervise Dental AssistantsUnderstand the organization’s commitment to provide high quality patient care and promote a patient-centered environmentPerform other tasks, as directed by the Director of Dental Services, as needed to meet clinic or organization goalsPerform other tasks, as directed by the Director of Dental Services, as needed to meet clinic or organization goals Clinical Functions:Examine, diagnose, and treat dental conditions to provide optimum care to patientsConsult with the patient/parent/guardian and advise them of dental status and required treatmentEducate patients regarding oral conditions, provide treatment options, and explain to the patient/parent/guardian the risks, benefits, and alternatives of each optionTreat dental conditions for patients of all ages, and if unable to provide a particular service, provide the patient with the appropriate specialty referral (Board certified/qualified Pedodontics are exempted from treating adult patients)Treat soft/hard tissues diseases of the oral cavity, perform surgery on oral tissues, when necessary, render prosthetic treatment, when indicated, and design and place orthodontic appliances for interceptive orthodonticsProvide quality care to the patients of DAP Health, within the scope of practice outlined by state and/or federal lawDeliver care in accordance with established standards of care and accepted community standardsRequired Skills/AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skillsBilingual in Spanish/English, strongly preferredComputer skills involving word processing email and dental management programs such as Media Dent preferableProficient in preventative and restorative dental treatment proceduresKnowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and its application, techniques, procedures, and equipmentDemonstrate strong leadership skills and qualitiesEducation and ExperienceDDS/DMD Degree from an accredited dental schoolLicensed to practice dentistry in the State of CaliforniaCurrent BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossCurrent DEA LicenseMeet all credentialing and privileging requirements2 years’ experience or GPR preferableCurrent BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossDEA CertificateExperience working with a non-profit FQHC Dental clinic preferredExperience working with LGBTQ community, homeless, and those with substance use conditions preferredWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsThis position is on-site at a DAP Health ClinicThis job operates in a clinic setting and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion, and talkingAble to lift/move up to 40 pounds, move from place to place, and stand for long periods of time #J-18808-Ljbffr DAP Health
