As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you'll be the backbone of the production process, transforming detailed technical drawings into finished, high-quality structural steel assemblies. You'll work on your feet, demonstrate your expert layout skills, and operate precision machinery to ensure every piece fits perfectly. Working closely with welding and management teams, you'll contribute to delivering top-notch results that make a difference.What You'll Do As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for: Laying out, fitting, and fabricating heavy structural steel components from start to finish. Reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and detailed technical drawings accurately. Measuring with precision to minimize errors and maintain tight tolerances. Operating shop equipment, including grinders, cutting tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes. Safely moving, positioning, and guiding steel pieces into proper alignment. Collaborating with welders and team members to ensure proper fit-up and efficient workflows. Performing structural MIG welding as needed.What You'll Bring The ideal candidate for this role will have: Experience in structural fabrication and MIG welding. Ability to pass a structural steel layout and fabrication test during the interview process. Deep understanding of industry terminology and fabrication techniques. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail when taking measurements. Strong teamwork and communication abilities, along with reliable attendance and punctuality.
