Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring that financial information is accurate, complete, and delivered on time  for all assigned companies. This position manages the month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, cash, loans, budgets, and accounting systems.

The Accounting Manager also leads the accounting team, improves processes, maintains strong internal controls, and provides financial information and recommendations to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly accounting close  and ensure deadlines are met.
• Review P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and supporting schedules  for accuracy.
• Complete and review bank, loan, intercompany, income, and expense reconciliations .
• Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable  activities.
• Monitor cash balances, owner draws, loan payments, automatic payments, and company expenses.
• Maintain Debt, Accrual, Prepaid Expense, and other accounting schedules .
• Review monthly Budget vs. Actual  results and explain significant variances.
• Identify cost overruns and recommend opportunities to reduce expenses and improve profitability .
• Supervise, train, and support accounting staff and effectively delegate responsibilities.
• Document important accounting processes and develop SOPs and cross-training .
• Improve and automate accounting processes whenever possible.
• Maintain effective use of SAGE Intacct, Buildium, and Maintenance systems .
• Communicate financial issues, risks, and recommendations to management.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience with month-end close and multi-company accounting.
• Strong reconciliation, AP/AR, cash, and debt management skills.
• Good understanding of budgets and financial analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise, train, and develop accounting staff.
• Comfortable learning and improving accounting systems and processes.
• Bachelor Degree in accounting
• Excel proficiency
• SAGE Intacct or Quickbooks online experience
