Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield. Perform equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex equipment problems. Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures./ppThis position is 1st shift M-F and is 100% onsite at our Southington, CT manufacturing facility./ppEssential Duties Responsibilities/pulliWork as a team with other technicians./liliProvide direct support to the production team for maintenance in performing complex troubleshooting and equipment improvements./liliSpecify ongoing maintenance requirements./liliAct as a technical resource to the maintenance technicians and escalate concerns to supervisor when necessary./liliAssume technical leadership role by providing guidance and mentoring for less experienced technicians./liliResponsible for the successful completion of assigned maintenance tasks or process improvements./liliIntegrate state-of-the-art technology with existing equipment to improve the process./liliFollow up on projects/assignments with minimum supervision./liliParticipate in the maintenance huddles and maintenance improvement discussions as a key team member in respective area of support./liliPlan, coordinate, install, and perform operational checkouts for equipment and processes in the assigned area of responsibility./liliPerform maintenance, repair, complex troubleshooting, redesign, and enhancement of mechanical, and electrical programs./liliResearch and initiates miscellaneous purchase requisitions for materials, spare parts, equipment, and services./liliTroubleshoots and assists in repairs of equipment and processes in area of responsibility. Must make accurate and concise decisions or recommendations./liliRecommends timing appropriate for the situation, to supervisors regarding problem and review spare parts, specifications, SOPs and preventative maintenance for equipment, processes in area of responsibility./liliTrain other plant personnel in specific procedures, methods, and operations regarding processes and equipment as directed./liliReport evaluated test data in the form of verbal, written, electronic and formal presentations to supervisors and/or management for further input./liliPerform due diligence of problem and research potential solutions within existing cGMP, cGDP guidelines, SOPs, and plant policies by cost/effectiveness/ease of operation/clean design./liliAdhere to maintain up-to-date status on pertinent cGMPs, cGDP, SOPs, and plant policies/rules/training./liliServe as technical resource for the plant./liliAssist in line coverage during unexpected absences of the maintenance mechanics when needed./liliPerform other related duties as assigned or required./li/ulpKnowledge Skills/pulliThe position requires a high level of resourcefulness, self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision, an ability to get things done by overcoming obstacles, anticipating, and resolving problems, making difficult compliant decisions, and finding a way to complete tasks through innovative actions in potentially different areas of the facility./liliAble to interpret Engineering specifications and read engineering drawings./liliMust have thorough knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical principles and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and/or processes to optimize its performance./liliStrong verbal communication, and technical writing ability necessary./liliAbility to exercise diplomacy in the leadership and direction of other employees is necessary. Actively improves change-over standards by eliminating wastes within the process and shares best practices with colleagues/li/ulpMinimum Qualifications, Education Experience/pulliMust be at least 18 years of age/liliHigh School diploma required.
