Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job

Registered Nurse - PCU in Hilo, Hawaii, US. Start date 09/28/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,259 to $2,472. No guaranteed hours. Shift consists of 36 hours per week scheduled after the first week of orientation, with no on-call requirements. This assignment includes Progressive Care and telemetry responsibilities on a 15-bed PCU/Step-down unit with telemetry, ICU-adjacent care, and the potential to float to other acute units as needed. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,259–$2,472 per week Guaranteed hours: None (no guaranteed hours) Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 36 hours per week, after orientation; no on-call Start date: 09/28/2026 Work setting: Hospital-based Progressive Care/Telemetry unit Floating: May float to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units as needed Responsibilities Provide primary nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients and telemetry patients Monitor telemetry, read ECG strips, and perform fingerstick blood glucose testing Administer medications using Meditech charting and Pyxis; support medication safety Operate telemetry equipment and continuous cardiac monitoring; assist with BIPAP as clinically indicated Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust the plan of care Document care accurately and educate patients and families as appropriate Adhere to unit staffing guidelines with nurse-to-patient ratios around 1:4 in PCU and 1:3 in Step-down ICU when applicable Requirements Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred Ability to float to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units in-house Proficiency with Meditech charting and telemetry interpretation Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health clearance Benefits and Support Dedicated recruiter support throughout the assignment Credentialing and orientation coordination Assistance with travel logistics and onboarding Support from the Healthforce staffing team during the assignment Housing assistance available where applicable Extension opportunities based on assignment needs and performance About Healthforce Healthforce is a nationwide travel healthcare staffing agency connecting travel nurses and allied health professionals with high-quality contract assignments across the United States.
