More about our team The LBS Payroll team operates at the center of a rapidly evolving, enterprise-wide function supporting a growing healthcare organization. With a recent transition to Oracle and several high-impact initiatives underway, this team plays a critical role in driving transformation, improving processes, and shaping the future of payroll operations. How you'll contribute A Payroll Director who excels in this role: Lead enterprise-wide payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing across multiple payroll cycles (including outsourced/managed service components) Oversee day-to-day payroll processing, including SLA adherence, issue resolution, and ticket management workflows Drive optimization and continuous improvement of payroll processes following recent Oracle system implementation Partner cross-functionally with Finance, People Services, and external vendors to support payroll-related initiatives and process alignment Lead key payroll transformation initiatives, including transitioning select processes (e.g., year-end/W-2 activities) from outsourced to in-house Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as internal policies and audit requirements Support and influence payroll-related policy development, governance, and enterprise-wide standardization efforts Provide leadership and direction to payroll management staff, including coaching, performance management, and team development Collaborate on enterprise initiatives such as provider pay process improvements and system enhancements Monitor payroll operations performance, identify gaps, and implement solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external payroll service providers What we're looking for Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, required; preferably in a business, accounting, finance, or related field. Additional qualifications include: Required 9+ years of progressive payroll experience in a complex, multi-state environment 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing managers or large teams Deep knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and multi-state payroll practices Experience leading or supporting payroll system implementations, integrations, or transformations Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to manage both day-to-day execution and process improvement initiatives Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across Finance, HR, and operations Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to leadership Preferred Experience with Oracle payroll systems or similar enterprise platforms Background in healthcare or similarly complex, regulated environments (not required) Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Experience bringing outsourced payroll functions in-house or optimizing shared services models Why join us We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care.
