Sterile Processing Technician - Mid Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Mid Shift: Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Possible weekends may be required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital operating room setting and a strong understanding of sterile processing practices. Your expertise will ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained, contributing to patient safety and effective surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments.
• Operate automated endoscope reprocessors (AER) and other sterilization equipment.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
• Document sterilization processes and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure proper usage and maintenance of sterilization and cleaning equipment.
• Organize and stock surgical supplies and instruments.
• Collaborate with surgical staff to meet procedural needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, preferably in an acute hospital environment.
• Certification required: CBSPD or CSPDT (CRCST or CSPDT is acceptable).
• Experience with endoscopy reprocessing is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Must possess a valid NY license to practice.
