Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide safe, patient-centered care as a Travel Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical setting with a strong orthopedics focus. Manage post-operative patients, including knee and hip replacements and multi-level spine surgeries, while collaborating with the unit team to support efficient workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver post-operative nursing care for orthopedic and spine procedures, including monitoring for complications.
• Assess patient condition, obtain vital signs, and evaluate symptoms to support timely interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical protocols and patient-specific plans of care.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and document clinical activities using Meditech.
• Maintain patient comfort and mobility through evidence-based interventions and monitoring of assistive devices.
• Participate in unit-based rounding, quality initiatives, and adherence to unit guidelines and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the appropriate state(s).
• Demonstrate strong orthopedics/ortho background with experience caring for post-operative joint replacement and spine patients.
• Perform advanced clinical skills relevant to Med Surg post-surgical care with attention to detail and safety.
• Possess demonstrated compassion and teamwork skills in fast-paced medical/surgical environments.
• Experience with Meditech (or equivalent electronic medical record documentation) preferred.
• Maintain current required certifications per facility policy and adhere to prescribed dress code.
