RN Medical Unit Nights

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care on the medical unit during night shifts, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care. Responsibilities include administering medications, developing individualized care plans, documenting patient progress, and supporting patient safety and experience. The role requires a current Wisconsin RN license, BLS certification, and experience in a hospital setting, with the ability to work every other weekend and holiday on 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and state laws.
• Document patient care and progress accurately according to standards.
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans including patient and family education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units as needed to support patient care continuity.
• Apply critical thinking to enhance patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
• May be required to float to other units as a Travel RN.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Education verification as required.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration.
• Prior experience in medical/surgical or trauma care environments.

Special Considerations:

• Position requires working every other weekend and holiday.
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• May require floating to other units as a Travel RN.

• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and holiday coverage.
