The Inventory Associate plays a key role in supporting warehouse and distribution operations by accurately handling, tracking, and organizing inventory for fastening products such as nuts, bolts, screws, and related hardware. This position focuses on processing inventory transactions in an ERP system, preparing customer orders, and supporting shipping, receiving, and material handling activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, sort, and prepare customer orders for nuts, bolts, screws, and other fastening products with a high level of accuracy.

• Process inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a similar ERP system.

• Label inventory and products clearly and accurately to support efficient storage and retrieval.

• Support daily shipping and receiving activities, including unloading, staging, and organizing materials.

• Assist with material handling tasks throughout the warehouse as operational needs arise.

• Participate in cycle counts, inventory audits, and year-end inventory processes to ensure stock accuracy.

• Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies by researching data in the ERP system and verifying physical inventory.

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed, following all safety guidelines.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all warehouse areas.

• Collaborate closely with team members to meet daily operational goals and customer requirements.

• Follow all company safety, quality, and compliance standards at all times.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, inventory, shipping and receiving, or material handling role.

• Experience using an ERP system for inventory or order processing.

• Proficiency or strong comfort using computers and inventory management software throughout the workday.

• Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on inventory accuracy.

• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely in a warehouse environment.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality to support daily operations.

• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a small-team environment.

• Data entry skills for accurate recording of inventory and order information.

• Experience with inventory tasks such as cycle counts and order entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is highly preferred.

• Experience with other ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar platforms.

• Forklift operating experience.

• Inventory control or cycle counting experience.

• Experience supporting warehouse audits and inventory reconciliation activities.

• Prior experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with barcode scanners and warehouse management systems.

Work Environment

The role is based in a largely climate-controlled facility of approximately 75,000 square feet, supporting distribution operations across North America within a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) model for customers throughout the Southeast. You will work as part of a small floor team of about five people who support each other across different responsibilities in a positive, team-oriented setting. The environment prioritizes safety, organization, and quality, with clear processes and strong leadership. Appropriate safety attire is required, including steel-toe shoes, a bright orange safety vest, and gloves. Most work takes place indoors in well-organized warehouse and distribution areas designed to support efficient and accurate inventory handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
