- # Outreach and Events Senior ConsultantApply: US - VA, McLean: US - VA, Arlington: Full time: Posted 3 Days Ago: 44579**Job Family:**Operational Effectiveness Consulting**Travel Required:**Up to 25%**Clearance Required:**None**What You Will Do:**As a Senior Consultant supporting a Department of War project supporting military community and quality of life programs, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing high-visibility outreach and training events for a government client. Your responsibilities will include:* Event Planning & Execution: Support end-to-end planning of training sessions, directorate events, multi-day conferences, roundtables, and stakeholder engagements.* Client Engagement & Requirements Gathering: Work directly with government stakeholders to clarify event objectives, collect requirements, document needs, and ensure all planning aligns with program priorities.* Venue & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with hotels, conference centers, and other venues to negotiate rates, secure meeting space, request A/V packages, review contracts, and coordinate onsite logistics.* Coordination with Guidehouse Procurement: Coordinate with Guidehouse procurement team to share client budgets, requirements, and potential vendors and events spaces such that Guidehouse procurement can negotiate rates and secure contracts.* Logistics Management: Oversee room layouts, signage, registration, attendee tracking, scheduling, run-of-show documentation, materials preparation, shipping, and coordination with government and contractor partners.* Onsite Event Support: Serve as the onsite logistics lead for key events; manage real-time issue resolution; coordinate with venue teams, government representatives, program managers, and support staff.* Outreach & Communications Support: Assist with strategic communication efforts to promote events, share updates, distribute materials, and coordinate messaging across directorates.* Post-Event Reporting: Conduct after-action reviews, summarize lessons learned, track issues, compile feedback, and support continuous improvement of event planning processes.**What You Will Need:*** Bachelor's degree* THREE (3) or more years of professional work experience supporting logistics, event planning, project coordination, or outreach activities. Experience should include:* Strong strategic communication experience, including preparing briefing materials, drafting emails, coordinating messaging, and supporting client-facing engagements.* Demonstrated event planning experience, including coordination of multi-day events, stakeholder meetings, breakout sessions, and trainings.* Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage many moving pieces, maintain trackers, coordinate schedules, and respond quickly to evolving client needs.* Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written; confidence interacting directly with government clients and senior stakeholders.* Ability to work independently on fast-paced, high-priority tasks, while collaborating effectively with internal teammates and external partners.* Willingness to travel for onsite event support (often multi-day commitments).* Proficiency with common collaboration and planning tools, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.**What Would Be Nice To Have:*** Experience supporting event logistics or planning for federal government clients, particularly DoW.* Experience negotiating or coordinating with hotels, conference centers, or large event venues, including reviewing contracts, minimums, and setup requirements.* Familiarity with A/V coordination, onsite technical troubleshooting, or coordinating with production vendors.* Understanding of federal procurement processes and policies, especially as they relate to coordinating government-sponsored events.* Prior experience supporting outreach, communications, or stakeholder engagement efforts.* Familiarity with military family programs, quality of life initiatives, or federal readiness/support offices.**What We Offer:**Guidehouse offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package that reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.Benefits include:* Medical, Rx, Dental & Vision Insurance* Personal and Family Sick Time & Company Paid Holidays* Position may be eligible for a discretionary variable incentive bonus* Parental Leave and Adoption Assistance* 401(k) Retirement Plan* Basic Life & Supplemental Life* Health Savings Account, Dental/Vision & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts* Short-Term & Long-Term Disability* Student Loan PayDown* Tuition Reimbursement, Personal Development & Learning Opportunities* Skills Development & Certifications* Employee Referral Program* Corporate Sponsored Events & Community Outreach* Emergency Back-Up Childcare Program* Mobility Stipend
