Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Location: 200 South Orange Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039 Facility: Barnabas Health Medical Group Department: Neurology at the ACC Pay Range: $22.95 - $29.32 per hour Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Requisition #: 0000247118 Job Overview Neurology at the ACC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical and clerical tasks under the direction of a physician or other health practitioner. Clinical duties include triage, taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, processing prescription refills, and assisting with minor procedures. The CMA serves as a practice ambassador, contributing to overall patient experience, safety, and privacy. Essential Functions Perform clinical tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, hearing and vision screens, urinalysis, injections, vaccinations, and medication administration. Support practice needs with clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co‑pays, preparing lab requests, and other clerical tasks as assigned. Communicate with insurance providers and handle pre‑authorizations and certifications as necessary. Prepare rooms, arrange instruments and equipment, and maintain a neat and sanitary environment. Room patients, verify patient information, confirm purpose of visit, obtain and record vitals and update medical history. Communicate with patients and other providers per the instruction of the overseeing physician or health practitioner. Create and maintain health record information, files and organize as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED. At least 6 months of relevant experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Phlebotomy and EKG experience. Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) system, Epic. Certifications and Licenses Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification approved by the American Heart Association. Medical Assistant Certification: AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA. Scheduling Requirements Schedule: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Days: Monday – Friday. Full‑time commitment.
