The Imaging Manager oversees all imaging services to maintain quality patient care. Provides administrative support in daily operations, while directing the Imaging/ RT Team. Responsible for compliance with state regulations related to radiography. Functions in a support capacity as needed to facilitate efficient patient visits.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• High school degree or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
• Licensure and/or certification as required by the state of North Carolina
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform procedures, including body mechanics and patient transport
• Knowledge of safety hazards and contraindications for patients and all visitors within the facility
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of communities, including internal and external providers, staff, patients, patient's families/caretakers
• Excellent documentation & organizational skills
• Effective project management experience
• Develop, organize, and maintain new imaging sites including equipment, personnel, shielding plans, and NCDHHS compliance

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following

• Coordinate daily schedule of the imaging team
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the organization to enhance the functionality of the department
• Conduct and/or assist with interviews, new hires, terminations, performance evaluations, and training of department staff under the discretion of the Director of Clinical Operations and Human Resources
• Approve and schedule time off requests (vacation, sick, benefit time, etc.) for the department staff and ensure proper coverage
• Review departmental operations and regulatory compliance
• Ensure that staff understands and adheres to the written radiation safety compliance program
• Identify and resolve workflow issues to ensure quality cost-effective patient care
• Review, arrange, and prepare for daily operations and anticipate project needs or requirements, coordinate staffing changes in multiple locations
• Develop operational plans, protocols, and budgets, including researching, preparing reports, and interpreting data in conjunction with the finance and administrative team
• Organize and approve stock/supply item purchases with a JIT approach
• Maintain, approve, and submit vendor invoices for payment
• Brief the Director of Operations on key operational or personnel issues; determine necessary action in the director's absence and handle matters not requiring executive deliberation
• Ensure that materials for meetings are received promptly and relevant, complete, and accurate. Attend all meetings regarding imaging services
• Coordinate imaging department meetings as needed
• Participate in professional development activities to keep current with healthcare trends and practices
• Keep an open line of professional communication with physician teams to address any patient needs or concerns
• Coordinate training and education for new and existing staff and clinical students; organize in-service applications training as needed
• Facilitate and process imaging requests for outside facilities and EmergeOrtho image requests
• Assist IT with PACS and imaging platforms services. To include study management, user information, interfaces, and integrations with partners
• Recognize and implement infection and environmental control practices while simultaneously reducing patient and staff risk
• Schedules all preventive maintenance and service requests with appropriate vendors under service contracts for all imaging modalities including but not limited to X-Ray, CArm, MRI, and Ultrasound
• Promote and assist the Marketing Manager with initiatives related to the imaging services offered by EmergeOrtho

Other

• Follows all applicable department and practice policies and procedures
• Maintains confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice
• Maintains detailed knowledge of computer software as it relates to job function
• Attends all regular meetings
• Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manger, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
