Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital environment
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• May be required to float
• Facility performs 200-300+ births per month
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care preferred
• Skills include neonatal care in the delivery room, APGAR scoring, and radiant warmer/thermoregulation management
• Postpartum care includes lactation support, foley catheter management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients
• Familiarity with epidural anesthesia and pain management protocols
• Skilled in interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns and use of external and internal fetal monitoring
• Experience with IUPC placement and calibration, and spiral electrode placement preferred
• Knowledge of magnesium sulfate therapy and Pitocin administration
• Skilled in triage of obstetrical patients and non-stress tests
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Candidates must complete mandatory Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this health system
