Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift teaching hospital position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a teaching hospital setting
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Facility performs between 200-300+ births per month
• May be required to float
• High-risk antepartum patient population

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (or NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) and IUPC placement/calibration preferred
• Spiral electrode placement experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and use of radiant warmers
• Manage patients with high-risk conditions such as pregnancy-induced hypertension, postpartum hemorrhage, and multiple births
• Circulate and recover C-section patients
• Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
• Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for assignment only if it has been 6 months or more since their employment ended
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for this traveler position
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
