Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU night shift position requiring at least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience and Epic experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Estimated patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care within a progressive care/stepdown unit
• Perform skilled interventions including IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, respiratory support, wound care, and insulin drip titration as needed
• Manage patients with dysrhythmias, renal failure, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury as applicable
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• RTO requests must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
• Candidates with only 1 year of experience may be considered but require manager review prior to offer
