Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU Float Pool position requiring OH/compact RN license, telemetry skills, and Epic experience.

Details

• PCU Float Pool position within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, GI, endocrine, renal, and neuro/post-surgical cases
• May be required to float to another OSU-affiliated hospital approximately a 5-6 minute walk away
• May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Estimated patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of solid step-down/PCU nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
• Required skills include IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor, with Charge RN acceptable as second reference (no coworker references)
• Additional relevant skills include IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care), cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care, insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis or neurosurgery care

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Candidates with 1-2 years of experience may be considered but require manager review prior to offer
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location promptly after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler position
• First-time travelers are not required for this role
