RN - Nurse Lead, ER, Night Shift, Full Time Full Time JOB DESCRIPTION Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello is a 192‑bed hospital located in Montebello, California. The facility offers a range of clinical services including emergency care, wound management, and surgical and laboratory services. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and coordinate unit-based nursing and ancillary staff in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff to develop and deliver high‑quality patient care. Supervise and direct nursing personnel, ensuring effective staffing, performance evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary actions as appropriate. Maintain patient safety and quality standards, participating in hospital quality improvement teams and data collection. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, infection control, medication safety, and documentation standards. Perform direct patient care as needed and participate in rounds to assess patient needs. Manage unit resources, equipment maintenance, and workload distribution. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and implement clinical protocols and staffing plans to meet patient acuity and organizational goals. Lead interdisciplinary case conferences and facilitate care plan development and revisions. Promote a patient‑centered, culturally sensitive environment, gathering feedback and initiating quality improvement initiatives. Address operational and patient care issues, recommending policy or procedural changes. Monitor staffing levels, facilitate schedule adjustments, and oversee hiring and termination of unit staff. Maintain department equipment, cleanliness, and safety, coordinating repairs as needed. Complete other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent education/experience. Master's degree preferred. At least five years of clinical experience preferred. Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required); CPR or BLS preferred. Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification preferred.
