Make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey with this uniquely flexible opportunity providing speech-language services on a contract basis. You’ll work directly with a nonverbal kindergarten student who uses an AAC device, focusing on building core vocabulary and functional communication. This placement allows for significant autonomy—the 45-minute session can be scheduled at your convenience between the hours of 9:30 AM and 2:45 PM each week.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist and necessary certifications to practice in school settings
• Previous experience working with students on the autism spectrum and/or with developmental delays highly valued
• Comfort supporting nonverbal children using AAC devices, with a strong focus on core vocabulary development
• Compassionate approach to working with self-contained students who may engage in self-injurious behaviors
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech-language therapy to a single student, utilizing individualized strategies that prioritize core vocabulary and functional communication through their AAC device
• Work closely with educational staff as needed to support the learning environment and student progress
• Track session outcomes and maintain accurate documentation tailored to school requirements
• Offer guidance and support to foster social, emotional, and communication development
