Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Hackensack University Medical Center

Shift: Night shift

Hours Per Week: 36

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Required Years of Experience: Greater than 2 in labor and delivery

Preferred Years of Experience: Greater than 4 years in labor and delivery

Required Hard Skills: phlebotomy, IV insertion, EFM, Vaginal exams, circulating in OR for c-section, instrumental delivery assistance

Required Soft Skills: N/A

Required Licenses & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs. Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments. Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages care of patients. Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities. Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

Required Skills & Experience: One (1)+ year of experience in related specialty.

Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A

Required Hard skills: phlebotomy, IV insertion, EFM, Vaginal exams, circulating in OR for c-section, instrumental delivery assistance

Education:

Required Education: ASN. Advanced AWHONN or EFM.

Preferred Education: BSN

Required Certifications & Licensure: BLS, AHA, NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license, NRP

Preferred Certifications & Licensure: ACLS

Languages: English Read, Write, Speak
