Step into an impactful role supporting young learners as an Instructional Special Education Teacher in a self-contained classroom for Kindergarten and 1st grade. This contract position, beginning August 19th, focuses on delivering compassionate, individualized instruction to a small group of low-incident students—many of whom utilize assistive AAC technology for communication.

Your day will start at 8:15 AM and wrap up at 3:45 PM, allowing for a fulfilling work-life balance. You’ll be collaborating closely with support staff and related service providers, creating an environment where every child is celebrated for their progress and unique learning style.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
• Prior experience in a self-contained special education classroom preferred
• Strong knowledge of and experience with AAC devices or other assistive technology
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students
• Innovative, patient, and student-focused teaching approach

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide adaptive and standards-based instruction to 6 young learners in a self-contained setting
• Utilize and integrate assistive technology (AAC devices) to enhance communication and student engagement
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families for a holistic student support system
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically and socially
