We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where interns are valued members of the team and are given meaningful projects to work on.Job Summary:The R&D Lab Technician plays a critical role in validating the performance, reliability, and safety of data center cooling equipment. This position is responsible for hands-on setup, wiring, instrumentation, and execution of lab testing for both customer validation and new product development.This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong electrical, mechanical, and controls aptitude, with the ability to build, modify, and troubleshoot test setups in a dynamic lab environment.Key Responsibilities:Set up, wire, and commission test equipment and instrumentation, including power wiring and control systemsExecute performance and validation testing on HVAC and refrigeration-based equipmentRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawingsAssist in PLC/controller setup, configuration, and basic troubleshootingModify lab setups and equipment to meet evolving test requirementsDevelop and execute test plans in collaboration with engineering teamsCollect and document test dataMaintain and calibrate sensors and lab instrumentationTroubleshoot electro-mechanical systems including fans, pumps, motors, and refrigeration circuitsSupport continuous improvement of lab processes, standards, and capabilitiesRequired Qualifications:Associate’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)3+ years of hands-on technical experience in a lab, manufacturing, or field service environment (adjust based on level)Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagramsExperience with power wiring (single and three-phase systems preferred)Basic understanding of PLCs or industrial controllers (setup, I/O, troubleshooting)Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power toolsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, or air handling equipmentFamiliarity with data acquisition systems and sensorsBrazing/soldering of copper tubingExperience working in an R&D or test lab environmentBasic carpentry or fabrication skillsAdditional Information:Occasional travel may be requiredThis role involves hands-on work in a lab environment around large mechanical and electrical systemsBenefits:Competitive SalaryComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plansFlexible work scheduleGenerous vacation and paid time off401K retirement savings plan with employer matchingProfessional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, and conference attendanceCompany-sponsored social events and team-building activitiesEqual Opportunity Employer: We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
