Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the CVICU for post-open-heart surgery and high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Monitor hemodynamics, manage ventilators, and titrate vasoactive medications; operate invasive lines per protocol.
• Support balloon pump/open heart recovery patients and respond to sudden changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams; participate in rounds and care planning.
• Communicate clearly with families, document assessments and interventions in the electronic health record, and ensure patient safety and infection control standards.

Requirements

• Current California RN license
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• CVICU experience with open heart recovery training; balloon pump/open heart experience preferred
• Ability to work 3x12 night shifts and participate in a travel temporary assignment
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work in a high-acuity CVICU environment
