About the Position

Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in one location; 2 years working as a Traveler License: Current Massachusetts RN License Certifications: AHA BLS; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Ability to read telemetry strips Description: M/S Tele RN required for rotating days, evenings, and nights. Position involves 36 hours per week and must be available to work every other weekend. Unit is a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit admitting all medical overflow. Census includes 32 total beds divided into 16 beds in two separate areas. Travelers may be required to float to applicable units when requested. Rotating shifts may occur between morning, evening, and night time as needed. Skill set required includes Med/Surg RN experience with neurological assessment skills and telemetry competency. Ability to interpret telemetry strips is crucial. Clinician-to-patient ratio for day and evening shifts is 1:4, potentially increasing to 5. Night shift ratio is 1:5 or 6. Patient population includes scheduled orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, and overflow medical patients. Charting system used is electronic.
