A Communication Coordinator position is available with the City of Fort Worth Public Library.

This position leads a team of four communications professionals that serve the Fort Worth Public Library system, which is currently comprised of 20 locations with three in development. The coordinator and team oversees public relations, marketing, advertising, internal communications, and media buying to support and promoting effective and efficient communication, system branding and to market more than 10,000 programs annually.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration or a related field
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or a closely related field
• Two (2) years of administrative management or supervisory responsibility
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in strategic campaign development
• Project management experience in multiple areas of communications simultaneously
• Major market media relations experience

The Communication Coordinator job responsibilities include:

• Developing comprehensive communications plans aligned with business operations and department strategic plan while managing the plan through execution
• Overseeing team development and day-to-day operations of the communications unit
• Serving as an advisor to library administration and leadership teams
• Serve as the Public Information Officer for the Library department within the City of Fort Worth, coordinating with City communications units
• Coordinate interdepartmental City communication projects and serve as liaison as needed to elected officials
