Overview This Life Safety internship will expose the intern to a wide variety of fire alarm and fire protection systems aspects with broad roles and responsibilities, including assisting engineers with research, data analysis, documentation, project coordination, fieldwork assistance, CAD support, and software proficiency. Responsibilities The intern will have various responsibilities aimed at providing valuable exposure to the engineering field: Supporting engineers by conducting research and preparing reports. Assisting with CAD tasks under supervision, creating drawings, sketches, or models. Performing data analysis and documentation tasks such as organizing project specifications. Coordinating projects by managing timelines and communications between team members. Accompanying engineers on field visits, inspections, or testing activities. Learning engineering software tools and ensuring safety compliance. Contributing to research and development projects. Attending engineering meetings and training sessions for learning opportunities. Communicating professionally with teammates, clients, and vendors. Demonstrating problem‑solving skills and contributing innovative ideas. This position is for high school students interested in pursuing an internship. Qualifications Interest in engineering concepts. Solid academic background in mathematics and physics. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members. Basic computer proficiency with a willingness to learn engineering software. Analytical abilities to contribute to projects. Teamwork skills. Proactive learning attitude. Safety awareness. Good time management. Professionalism in handling internship responsibilities. Currently pursuing a high school degree or equivalent. Abilities Exposure to computer screens for extended periods. Sitting for extended periods. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
