Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing stroke stepdown patients and a strong background in medical-surgical nursing.

Unit Overview

• Unit Specialty: Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown
• Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
• Floating Required: Yes
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Common Diagnoses

• Stroke
• Altered mental status
• Renal issues
• Dialysis
• COPD
• CHF
• Isolation cases
• General medical-surgical patients
• Pneumonia
• Pulmonary issues

Patient Demographics

This unit primarily serves adult patients. The facility has a total of 64 beds.

Equipment and Skills

The following equipment is commonly used within the unit:

• IV pumps
• Naso-gastric (N/G) tubes
• Feeding tubes

Qualifications

• 2+ years of nursing experience in Medical-Surgical units with stroke stepdown experience
• Travel experience is essential
• Valid driver's license matching current address
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS certification is required (can be obtained prior to start)
• NURSYS report for license verification with active state licenses
