Essential Responsibilities Enter borrower and guarantor financials into processing system using solid financial analytical skills and understanding of commercial loan cash flow analysis Collaborate with lenders to prepare credit approval memos for both new and renewed loans Work closely with the commercial team to gather necessary documentation for annual loan reviews and prepare review memos for management Complete loan modification request on existing commercial loans Review current industry trends, commercial lending products, and issues specific to collateral to determine the best underwriting guidelines Knowledge of and adherence to required federal and state regulations Perform other duties as necessary to support the team. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum 2 to 3 years of commercial underwriting experience required Preferred Formal Credit Underwriting Training or Certificate Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills to manage a pipeline and meet deadlines Solid financial analytical skills regarding commercial loan cash flow analysis Detailed understanding of various business structures and the associated risks Highly detail oriented Sound knowledge of Commercial Underwriting systems Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information to both internal and external members Understanding of collateral specific issues Valid driver’s license and insurability with General Electric Credit Union’s insurance company as well as transportation to complete site visits within GECU footprint Benefits At GECU, we want to support your wellbeing by offering a wide range of benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance Life and Disability insurance options Paid Time Off starts accruing once hired and take your birthday off - paid 401k Retirement plan with up to a 10% match of your base gross compensation Tuition reimbursement opportunities & professional development Volunteer opportunities - and earn additional PTO hours!
