Retail Property Accountant

We are working with a privately owned commercial real estate investment and management firm that manages a portfolio of retail assets throughout the Houston area. This is a highly visible opportunity working directly with ownership in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. They are seeking an experienced Retail Property Accountant with strong NNN commercial property accounting and CAM reconciliation experience. Position Highlights Direct exposure to ownership and portfolio operations Hands‑on role supporting a growing retail portfolio High‑visibility accounting and financial reporting position Entrepreneurial, collaborative company culture Opportunity to make an immediate impact Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements and journal entries Perform account and bank reconciliations Manage property‑level accounting for retail assets Handle CAM reconciliations, tenant recoveries, and annual true‑ups Process tenant billings, percentage rent, and utility bill‑backs Manage accounts receivable, tenant ledgers, and collections support Run Yardi financial reports including GL, rent roll, income statements, and delinquency reporting Partner closely with property managers and ownership on portfolio performance Requirements 3+ years of retail commercial property accounting experience MUST have NNN and CAM reconciliation experience Yardi Voyager experience required Strong understanding of tenant recoveries and percentage rent Advanced Excel skills Ability to manage multiple properties independently Ideal Background Retail shopping center accounting Entrepreneurial or privately held real estate environment Strong communication and organizational skills Self‑starter who can work independently and proactively #J-18808-Ljbffr Burnett Staffing Specialists
