Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) for a 13-week assignment at a critical access hospital. The role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests and supporting clinical needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiology tests, including gram stains, cultures, and blood cultures.
• Conduct blood bank testing and verify compatibility procedures.
• Collect and handle blood samples through proficient phlebotomy techniques.
• Rotate shifts, including nights and weekends, with availability for holiday coverage.
• Follow all Covid-19 protocols, including PPE and isolation procedures.
• Work independently, prioritizing multiple tasks effectively and maintaining clear communication with team members.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an approved laboratory technician or technologist program.
• Strong proficiency in microbiology and blood bank testing.
• Experience with Covid regulations and PPE protocols.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and rotate weekends with no call.
• Excellent multitasking and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under minimal supervision.
